The gap

There is often a distance between how good you are and how you appear online.

The people we work with are excellent at what they do and receive steady referrals. The website is the one part that never got the same attention — and they know it.

  • 01 You hesitate before sharing the link. A referral asks for your website and there is a small pause before you send it. That pause is information.
  • 02 It was built once, in a hurry, years ago. It made sense at the time. Your practice has grown considerably since; the website has not moved with it.
  • 03 Every small change means waiting on someone. Updating a paragraph should not require an email, an invoice and a week of patience.
Takes ten seconds

Go on — change something.

That last one is the problem we solve most often, so here is the answer rather than a description of it. Type on the left. Watch the right.

Your editor

Changes appear instantly. Nothing here is permanent.

yourpractice.com

Therapy for people who think a great deal.

Twenty years of practice in central Toronto. In-person and online sessions, for adults navigating change.

Book a consultation

A sketch, not the real dashboard — but the feeling is accurate. On a Clarity Session we will screen-share the genuine article and you can click through it yourself.

The process

Five steps. You will always know where we are.

Each stage ends with something you can see, and nothing moves forward without your word.

01

Strategy

A conversation about your practice — who you serve, what makes your approach yours, and what this website genuinely needs to do. Design decisions come later, and they come from here.

02

Design

A visual direction drawn from your work rather than from a trend. You see it, you respond to it, we refine it together.

03

Development

Built properly — quick to load, clear to navigate, and considered on a phone as carefully as on a desktop. Contacting you is never more than a tap away.

04

Foundational search setup

Page titles, descriptions and proper indexing with Google, so the people already searching your name find the right thing. Honest groundwork, no inflated promises.

05

Photography support

Real photographs of you carry more trust than any stock image. We advise on what to gather, and can recommend a photographer if you would like one.

Selected work

A practice, given a home she can manage herself.

Presence PackagePrivate practiceToronto

A therapist in private practice

She held more than one domain name, with a single simple site between them — serviceable, but built to hold information rather than to represent her. The first decision was which to build properly. We began with her personal practice, then followed it with a second, educational site. Both were handed over completely.

What we built

  • A custom homepage of clearly separated sections, each editable on its own
  • A writing archive she publishes to directly, without involving us
  • An announcements area, with pinning and dated items that retire on their own
  • Navigation, footer and contact details under her control
  • Contact form and custom domain, configured and connected

What she was handed

  • A written handover guide covering every routine task, in plain language
  • A first-three-steps checklist, so nothing was ambiguous on day one
  • Image guidance so the site stays quick as it grows
  • A troubleshooting table for the small things that come up
  • Full ownership of her content, editable at any hour without permission or invoice
The measure of this project is not the launch. It is that she has not needed to contact us to change a word since.

Execution is the easy half.

The harder half is listening.

Who you would be working with

Fernkeep is one person, on purpose.

I started building websites by helping a family member open a restaurant. I got the technical side right on the first attempt and the site was still wrong — because I had built what I thought a restaurant website should be, rather than what theirs was.

The lesson has shaped everything since. Execution is the easy half. The harder and more valuable half is listening closely enough to understand what someone has actually built, then finding the visual language that belongs to it rather than to a trend.

You will speak to me at every stage. Nobody is handed to an account manager and nothing is subcontracted — which limits how many projects run at once, and is the reason the work stays careful.

Working together

Four ways to build, priced clearly.

All four are custom designed around your practice. What separates them is how much room you need, who holds the keys afterwards, and how much of the writing you would like taken off your hands.

These are founding rates. They apply to the next three projects, while Fernkeep builds its first body of work. After those, standard rates begin.

The Single Page

One page, done properly. For a practice that needs a credible home online and nothing more.

$590

Founding rate · standard $890

  • Custom single-page design, built for your practice
  • Website Clarity Session to establish direction
  • Contact form connected to your inbox
  • Foundational search setup and Google indexing
  • Hosting and custom domain configured for you
  • One round of revisions
  • Not self-editable. Changes come back to us.

  • Everything in The Single Page, and:
  • Custom design across 3–5 pages — room for your approach, your background, your services
  • Two rounds of revisions

The Signature Package

For a larger practice, or for anyone who would rather not write the words themselves.

$2,370

Founding rate · standard $3,330

  • Everything in The Presence Package, and:
  • Six to eight pages — room for a fuller body of work
  • The words drafted with you, not simply tidied afterwards
  • Booking or scheduling connected, so an enquiry becomes an appointment
  • Photography direction — a shot list, and a briefing for your photographer
  • Three rounds of revisions, and ninety days of support after launch

You see it before it is built

The design is presented and approved before a line of the site is developed. Nothing is constructed that you have not already agreed to.

No surprise invoices

Every cost is quoted and agreed before the work begins. If something falls outside the package, you hear the number first, not afterwards.

A reply within one business day

During a project and after it. You will not be left wondering whether a message arrived.

Three projects at a time

A deliberate limit. It is the reason the work stays careful, and the reason the schedule occasionally has a wait.

If you send someone our way. Most of our work arrives through people who have already been through it. If you introduce someone and they go ahead, we credit $200 of work back to your own site — a new page, a seasonal refresh, whatever you happen to need. No forms, no codes; just tell us who to expect.

Questions worth asking

The things people ask before we begin.

Lower quotes generally mean a pre-made layout with your words dropped into it. Much higher quotes generally mean a larger team with a larger overhead. This sits in between deliberately: designed and built specifically for your practice, by one person who has spoken to you directly.

It is exactly what it sounds like, and no. Fernkeep is a new studio building its first body of work, and early clients take a small risk in choosing one — so they pay less. The founding rates apply to the next three projects. After those, the standard rates listed on each package begin, and they will not be discounted back. There is no countdown clock on this page and no artificial deadline: when the three are taken, the prices simply change.

No — and most of the people we work with begin by saying exactly this. The technical parts are ours: hosting, the domain, the setup, the connections. What we ask of you is the part you are already expert in, which is your own work. Everything you are handed at the end is written in plain language, and nothing is left where you are expected to guess.

Two to four weeks from kickoff in most cases. The largest variable is not the building — it is how quickly the text and photographs arrive. We ask for those within seven days of kickoff so the project holds its momentum; if they take longer, the project pauses and resumes when you are ready.

You see a direction before anything is built, and you respond to it honestly. Two full rounds of revisions are included, which is nearly always sufficient because the strategy conversation comes first and removes most of the guesswork. If more is wanted after those two rounds, it is $75 an hour and quoted before any work starts, so there is never a surprise on an invoice.

Yes, entirely. The domain is registered in your name and the content is yours. Hosting is included; your domain renews annually with your registrar at their usual rate. The contact form is free up to fifty enquiries a month, comfortably beyond what most practices receive. There is no retainer and no monthly fee to us — nothing here depends on you staying.

An honest answer: a website does not create demand, it converts it. What it can do is make sure the people already finding you — through a referral, a directory, a search for your name — meet something that reflects your actual standard rather than undercutting it. That is the work we can be accountable for. Anyone promising you a specific number is guessing.

Start with a Website Clarity Session.

Thirty minutes, at no cost. We look at where you are now, what your practice actually needs, and whether we are the right people to build it. You will leave with a clear view of it either way.
